Chicken and Mushrooms Julienne combines tender chicken pieces with sliced mushrooms, all cooked to perfection in a creamy sauce.

Chicken and Mushrooms Julienne

Main Ingredients:
 450 g Chicken Breasts( boneless, skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces)
 250 g White Mushrooms (thinly cliced)
 100 g Brawn Onion (finely sliced)
 2 Garlic Gloves (minced)
 2 tbsp Flour (all-purpose) or (almond flour or coconut flour for keto version)
 2 tbsp Butter or Olive Oil
 1 cup Chicken Broth
 ½ cup Heavy Cream
 ½ cup Cheddar Cheese (grated) any choice of cheese Edam, Emmentaler, Fontina, Gouda, Havarti Cheese, Manchego
 Salt and Pepper to taste
 Fresh Parsley (for garnish)
 Buttered Breadcrumbs (optional) for keto (buttered almond flour or crushed pork rinds for topping (optional)

To start with;
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, melt the butter or heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until they become translucent.

Add the chicken pieces to the skillet and cook until they're no longer pink.
This should take about 5-6 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.

In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they release their moisture and become tender. Season them with a pinch of salt and pepper.

Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir well. Cook for about 2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
For Keto friendly version Sprinkle the almond flour (or coconut flour) over the mushrooms and stir well. Cook for about 2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.

Slowly pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream while stirring continuously. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
Continue to stir until the sauce thickens, usually taking 2-3 minutes.

Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir it into the creamy mushroom sauce.
Allow it to simmer for a few more minutes, ensuring the chicken is heated through.
Adjust the seasoning with more salt and pepper if necessary.

If you have oven-safe individual ramekins or a baking dish, transfer the Chicken and Mushrooms Julienne mixture into the dishes.
If desired, you can sprinkle a thin layer of buttered breadcrumbs on top for added texture.

Sprinkle the grated cheese over the top of each dish.

Place the ramekins or baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Remove the Chicken and Mushrooms Julienne from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
